Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

We would like to introduce to you our chamber music project “Peter and the Wolf” It is about Sergei Prokofiev’s world famous piece, but arranged for a smaller assemble. Our idea is not only to perform this unique musical story to the young students but also to help the development of their music education by showing them some of the most important classical music instruments. 

Our project was performed with great success in different schools in Doha such as American School of Doha, German International School Doha, Qatar Finland International school,etc. Most of our artists perform with Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra,which guarantees a very high level of performance.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

·         The following instruments are presented:

1.      Violin (plays the theme of Peter)

2.      Flute (plays the theme of the Bird)

3.      Oboe (plays the theme of the Duck)

4.      Clarinet (plays the theme of the Cat)

5.      Bassoon (plays the theme of the Grandfather)

6.      French Horn (plays the theme of the Wolf)

7.      Percussion instruments (Timpani, Base drum, Snare drum, Cymbal, Temple block, Triangle, Tambourine).

·         The concert is performed by 8 artists – 7 musicians and 1 narrator.

·         The concert starts with a presentation of each instrument and each character of the story (please see attachment) followed by the performance of the whole piece.

·         Concert duration is approximately 45 minutes.
